Happy 4th of July!

Take a minute to celebrate. Take a minute to remember why we celebrate. Take a minute to pray.

We are so blessed to live in this nation. We have so many wonderful freedoms to celebrate and enjoy, and for those in Christ Jesus we can celebrate something even greater. We celebrate our freedom from death and sin through the sacrifice Christ made on our behalf. Happy Independence Day. Free in Him...

Don't Expect to be loved when you stand up for Christ....

"And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved." (Matthew 10:22)

Hold fast to this promise and be encouraged. Even if the darkness He is with us. Stand for Christ.

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Because of Christ we have been changed. Let's walk like it. Shine the light.
7 Therefore do not be partners with them.  8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light  9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)  10 and find out what pleases the Lord.  11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.  12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14 for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." (Ephesians 5:7-14)

I was reflecting on the life of Moses. A man of God who accomplished many great things through God's power. And yet there was a pattern of anger in his life that eventually kept him out of the promised land. He died on a mountain overlooking the promise but never actually experiencing it for himself. I started to ask God what patterns might exist in my life that need to be dealt with. What destructive pattern(s) in your life does God need to eradicate? Something that appears small can lead to something larger and eventually rob you of both the blessing and the opportunity to be used by God.

-Numbers 20

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3:16-21 NKJV)

Come to the light. Come to Christ. Accept what God has offered and begin a new life in Jesus. Build your goodness on the foundation of the one who is good. Any foundation laid apart from Christ will crumble. Let it be seen that your good deeds are built up in God through his firm foundation. Accept today what he has given for you.

Prayer: "God, thank you for sending your son Jesus, God in the flesh to die for my sin. I turn away from my sin and I recognize Jesus as Lord. I choose to make Him the leader of my life and ask that you would fill me with your Holy Spirit to guide and lead my decisions. Thank you for dying on the cross for me and for rising from the dead that I might have life. Help me to die to sin and live for you. Amen."

God's word is so layered. Pick a passage and dig deeper. You can never know so much that there isn't something new to see. God's word is alive and speaking. Pick it up and hear what He has to say.

I have had the opportunity to teach occasionally at a local bible study. Please keep me in prayer that God's word would be taught and that I would teach with boldness and love.

Lift Jesus high for the world to see so that all might be drawn to Him. As Jesus said...

John 12:32
English Standard Version (ESV)
32 And I, (A)when I am lifted up from the earth, (B)will draw (C)all people to myself.”

"And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” (John 12:32)

What's up everybody? Summer has officially come to a close or so they tell me. Cali still has beautiful weather and the days are hot. God provided some great opportunities this summer to go out and rock the mic and plant some seeds for His kingdom. Thanks to everyone who came out to support. The Bodega is still available at all your favorite spots such as Itunes and Amazon and will also become available soon to stream on some hot new mediums like Spotify. Spread the word and let's build the Kingdom. God is good!

In the difficult times we have the opportunity to love God not only for what He gives us, but for who He is.
En los momentos difíciles tenemos la oportunidad de amar a Dios no sólo por lo que él nos da, sino por quién es.

"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

(Matthew 7:12)

What would the world be like if we lived this out every day?

Reflecting on all that God has done. He sent his son Jesus who died on the cross for our sin once and for all. God raised Him from the dead and extends the free gift of eternal life to all who receive this news. By grace through faith we're saved. Dead to sin. Alive in Christ. The debt has been paid. No longer living in separation from a Holy God. We are made righteous through believe in his son Jesus Christ. Reconnected. Accept Christ today. Turn from your sin and begin to walk in His strength. Be set free from sin and begin your new life in Christ. Rejoice for your redemption is here. Happy Easter!

Valentines Day: a time when people exchange cards, chocolates, and roses. It’s a time to search for that perfect gift to tell someone how much you love them whether a best friend or that special someone. It may be filled with stress trying to make the perfect day or for others a day of loneliness. A day filled with sadness for some who feel “if I just had that special someone my life would be complete.” And for some a reminder of never having experienced true love.

But what is true love…?

A love that knows no boundaries. No limits. A love that would give of itself no matter the cost to have a relationship with you. A love that would go even to the point of death to prove to you how much you were loved. A perfect love. Is there such a thing?  Were you ever so important that perfect love would make that sacrifice for you?

The answer…yes!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

Perfect love died for you. Love came as a man. God’s son, and paid the price for your sin that you might live in a restored relationship with God.

..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus - Romans 3:23-24

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  – 1 John 4:9-11

God loved us first. Even in our sinful state. No matter who you are. No matter what you’ve done. Through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, through his death and resurrection we have the opportunity to experience perfect love. A love that was given for you. This Valentines Day don’t miss God’s perfect gift. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience true and perfect love. And through His love the opportunity to love others more deeply. We are all guilty of sin. Confess it to God today. Turn away from sin and turn to Christ.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. – Romans 10:9-10

Be complete in Christ as you love Him and love others. If you've accepted the free gift. Pick up His love letter to you. The bible. Now it's time to grow. Stay rooted in the truth.

Yo what up everybody? I know it's been a little over a month now and I've promised to do a recap and hit some of the unanswered interview questions so let's try to get them knocked out. Things have been busy y'all. I'm sure none of you know what I'm talkin' about. ha!

Make sure you check out the photos and video from that nights event. Ashley got some great shots. Thanks again to everybody who came and represented that night. It was a great time. Appreciate the support. You were a definite blessing!

All right let's hit some of these questions:

Are you single?: All right next question. ha!

What is your testimony? Good question. Not sure if I have time to fully answer, but I will try and give you a brief overview. Grew up in the church. When I was about 10 years old I was reading a little new testament bible and felt heavy in my heart, I began crying and just felt conviction over what I was reading. I talked with my parents and they explained the basic gospel message to me, that God sent his son Jesus to die for our sins and in our place He paid the ultimate price for us to have eternal life. That if I believed in my heart and confessed with my mouth then I might be saved. I accepted Christ that night. However life got ahold of me and I walked a life I would say was far from holy. Instead of living my life for Christ. I was living for myself. Santification or the process of becoming Christ-like is that in itself a process. But in order to grow we have to stay committed to what God's word says and be diligent in seeking His face through His word and through prayer. It's also something we have to walk out in community with other believers. That's something in the last few years that God has really awoken me to. God is continuing to show me that daily. And I am on a mission of holiness for His glory.

Is that why you do Hip-hop? I started out because it was a way for me to express my pent up thoughts and emotions. I realized later that I wanted to use the music as a positive influence. But God had and always does have higher plans. He is transforming me and has transformed the music not just to be a "positive" influence but as a message pointing the unbeliever to Christ and calling the Godly to holiness. That is my hope for the music and for my life.

What was it like to work at an orphanage in Mexico? It was awesome. Challenging, a struggle at times for sure. But it gave me a lot of time to grow in my faith and to grow as a man. An experience I will never forget nor regret.

How does God work in your life? I would say He's always working. Sometimes it may be difficult to see but I have the opportunity to hear Him speak to me daily through His word and through prayer. The bible says in Proverbs "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." I truly believe that. When you look back it's amazing to see His direction.

Do you like old school hip hop? Yes.

Top 3 musical influences? Many ways to answer this. Let's say this. Other music, life experience, and God's word.

6 Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.

8 The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Psalm 138:6-8

God is so much closer than we think. Through his son Jesus we have instant connection with the Father. Life isn't always easy but it's so encouraging to know that we can connect to the perfect source when life gets hard. The password humbleness. God is constantly working for our benefit. We don't deserve His love or His blessings and yet He gives them. Be encouraged today in Christ. He is so much closer today than you may even feel. Call out to Him in times of trouble. He's listening and ready to save.
